Oriental

Oriental was all over the catwalk in September so why not take inspiration and use it to create a classy look.

Kashmir

The next trend is called Kashmir which looks at the use of global patterns but in a more subtle and textural way than we have previously seen. What I love about this trend is how the ethnic patterns are more muted and sit beautifully with the different textures ranging from Moroccan wedding blankets to cut outs in pottery. I think this also has a great scope to be a high end luxurious range for the home. :)

Bold, bright but not brash

One of the colour trends that I picked up on when I was at Premier Vision in september was the use of bold colour in homewares. I have noticed more and more that the days of subtle colour palettes are fast becoming a thing of the past and that consumers want to have fun in their homes again and stamp their individuality. Being a fan of the more subtle colour palette what I love it the idea of having neutral base but incorporating bold flashes of acidic colour, I think this can sometimes have a more powerful effect.

More trends to follow tomorrow.

Adelaide d’Andigne

I came across Adelaide d’Andigne‘s work when I visited Premier Vision in September and her work became one of my favourites that day. Adelaide certainly knows how to do a ditsy delicate flower print and I found her use of colour very inspiring.

Debbie Powell

I found Debbie Powell’s work this morning whilst reading through my endless list of blogs and was immediately in love with her work. Debbie is a freelance illustrator and printmaker based in London, her client list includes Jamie Oliver, M&S, The Guardian and Royal Mail to name a few. It turns out I have been a fan of her work for a while but never been able to put the name to the work.
