Craft Fair
I did a craft fair in York this weekend. It was very disappointing!
I thought my stand looked good though, I was happy with the way the product looked when it was all laid out.

What I love about craft fairs is meeting different people, because I don’t get much of that since I have been freelancing. I love seeing the reactions to my work and what pieces people are drawn to but I am finding craft fairs not the best place to sell my work. So far Designers Marketplace in Middlesbrough has been the only venue that has not been a disappointment. I am desperate to find a decent craft fair in Manchester or in the North, most however seem to be down south. On the plus side though the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair has called for entries and I am going to apply! Fingers crossed I am at a high enough standard.
Oh and to anyone I met this weekend at York, thanks for stopping by my stand and taking an interest in what I do, hopefully you will pop back here soon
Kustaa Saksi
We have a new book at home by the illustrator Kustaa Saksi.
Kustaa has worked with many great clients such as Nike, Mandarina Duck , The Times and Levi’s, to name a few. My fiance claims its the most beautiful book that we have, big words but the book does live up to it. Printed on uncoated paper with the illustrations mixed in with photographs and repeat patterns, its pure escapism.

London Inspiration
Its been a whole week since I came back from London and its taken me this long to catch up with all my missed work, so sorry about the lack of posts. I am currently working on some new collections for my new website which hopefully should be up and running in the next month (fingers crossed).
Anyway here are some samples of wrapping paper and cards that I brought when I was in London. I went to Libertys which was amazing as usual and saw there new scarf department which is just incredible. I must get a better phone so I can take sneaky snaps when out and about.
Both by Alice Stevenson for Art Angels. I love the use of colour and the mixture of the roses and bright florals.
All found in Liberty.
Two cards found in the Saatchi Gallery by Ninteenseventythree.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. I am on a Bookbinding course at Hot Bed Press which Lucy May Schofield. I cant wait because I really enjoyed the Porfolio Box making course I did with her a few months back. Ill post pictures of my creations next week.
Pugs
Just brought this picture from Gemma Correll. It really made me laugh so I just had to buy it.

This week has been a bit sparse on the old blog. Truth be told I am feeling a little flat and low at the moment. I am however going to London for a few days for an inspiration/ shopping trip. I’m really looking forward to it, I need lots of new fresh ideas for a big push with the freelance work. I gave myself till August to make this work, and thats only 5 months away! gulp!
Have a good week!
